The butter tart, a Canadian classic sweet treat. It entails just that, butter and a tart. The excessive amount of sugar is added to make the tart palatable. Other ingredients are added as well to hold the tart together and allow the baking science to work its magic in the oven.
Indulging in a butter tart every once in a while in the presence of an otherwise healthy diet is alright. What would be even better is making the tart healthier to begin with.
