Around the World in 80 Bites – Bite 18

This one is simple – mint lemonade.

It all started with mint tea in Morocco. This sweet minty concoction was like Wrigley’s spearmint gum in a glass. Then I tried mint lemonade in Syria.

Sometimes it was puréed into a green smoothie and other times, left in its raw form, a bushel of mint leaves in sugar water with a whisper of lemon yellow colour. It was my drink of choice throughout my travels in Syria.

Cool, refreshing and good for digestion, mint lemonade is something you must try. I have yet to have as good a version of it as I did in Syria.
