Happy Father’s Day to whom it applies!
It is June, month of the strawberry moon, local strawberries and strawberries and champagne at Wimbledon. Introducing my Father’s Day creation in consideration of ‘le mois de la fraise’: the Wimbledon cake.
So what else can you do with the bounty of fruit in the short strawberry season? The usual suspects: strawberry muffins, cake and ice cream or how about…strawberry and champagne jam; a dessert kebab featuring alternating strawberries and bite-size pound cake on a skewer with a side of vanilla yoghurt and/or whipping cream (dairy or non-dairy); a bowl of strawberries with a splash of balsamic vinegar.
